Concerned with feelings of self doubt and disconnect with myself, I focused on my name as a representation of the self. I played off of the nursery rhyme of Miss Mary Mack, in which she is given fifty cents, and compared this nursery rhyme to my misguided worries about myself. To play off of Mary’s fifty cents I placed this amount in one hand, representing personal anxieties about myself, and in the other is "my own two cents," which is what I know to be true about myself.
